Oh shit damn it's been basically a week

I'm alive, I swear. But it's weird. Lately when I have something on my mind to blog I'm way too tired to blog it. And when I'm in front of the computer with all the time in the world, nothing. In any case I still don't have any ideas at the moment. Though I do have something to share. It's the lyrics to the song I'm writing. Well, it'll be a song as soon as I write maybe a riff or two and pick out a few chords.

No title yet, and the lyrics, especially the refrain, are subject to change, but here's what I have

Met a man on the street in a suit and a tie
Who said it honors a man to send him to die
He himself though seemed of a humbler sort
Waving the flag for those holding the fort

Ran into another wearin a chain with a cross
A solid gold tribute to his Holy Boss
Said the world's pain and death came from people like me
When he saw the small rainbow patch sewn on my sleve

Well I've heard it said that we're nearing our last night
And from what I've seen the soothsayers may be right

Caught a rock in the head from an underage punk
With an anarchy patch and a seven-beer drunk
Wearing a look that says he's hardcore
That he bought from a nationwide trendy chain store

Met a girl at a show with a scar on her wrist
Who swore to me happiness didn't exist
And despite my best efforts remained all so dense
As to take each raindrop as a personal offense

Well I've heard it said that we're nearing our last night
And from what I've seen the soothsayers may be right

Saw a crowd of punk rockers at the end of a string
American Idiots from another wing
And while I joined in as they yelled "Fuck the War!"
I wondered who there knew what it was for

It's hard for me to go out anymore
Seeing all good sense getting thrown out the door
Want to walk with a blindfold, my ears filled with gauze
But I'd be no different from they who my migranes have caused

Well I've heard it said that we're nearing our last night
And from what I've seen the soothsayers may be right

Maybe next time I'll have something that's actually a blog post

  1. what are you talking about? This was a beautiful post and I love your song! Very touching! Hey, you'd best podcast it so we can get a listen once it is done!

Have a notebook with you and take notes because you are gone far too long and we miss you dammit!

The notebook thing is actually something I do. But it doesn't always work for me.
