Sometimes I swear that the whole effing world is against me

Two nights in a row I've arrived at the cinema too late to get tickets for Sin City.

Admittedly, I did have an excellent time preceeding and following both failures, because I was in excellent company. If you're reading this, you know who you are, and I just want to go on the record that you rock. Still, I didn't see the movie, and that's been fucking with me.

Ahem. Anyways.

I was rewiring some of my laptop accessories after taking my computer to another apartment to share music (I so need an iPod), and it kind of snowballed into me cleaning my entire workspace, and the area surrounding. Its all neat now. I feel like a total sell-out.

Saije seemes to be MIA. I haven't seen her post on her blog or anyone else's in a week. Saije, if you're reading this, please show yourself...

Ok, that having been taken care of, there is the little matter of today's date. In truth, I have no gag whatsoever; I couldn't think of one. Instead, I leave you with these words first written by the great Mark Twain.

APRIL 1. This is the day upon which we are reminded of what we are on the other three hundred and sixty-four.

  2. Happens to me a lot, too.

All I really know about Sin City is its a sort of film-noir based on three graphic novels by Frank Miller. My freind has seen it and said that he couldn't even invent words to describe the experience. I'm going to try and see it tommorrow...

From what I can gather, Sin City is sort of filmed like a comic - sort of what The Hulk was going for but in a much more stylised way. Apparently it uses a lot of the colour palettes used in the GNs, and there are some scenes that are framed exactly the same way as the GN. I wouldn't be able to say, though, because I must admit that Sin City is one of those things that I've never gotten around to reading.

  4. According to my friend the entire thing was done shot for shot from the GNs. What I'd meant was that I didn't know much about the plot. Cinematically its more like Sky Captain and the World of Tommorrow than the Hulk. Its just a lot darker is all.
