So I skipped a day. It's become a habit for, well... most anyone who reads this of whom I am currently aware.
So I finally got ahold of Franz Ferdinand's self-titled album. Its upbeat music that isn't vapid, soulless, or insipid. Hearing that such music still exists was a religious experience. Excellent album if you haven't already heard it.
That last post was kinda weird. I'm not sure what I think about it... it kinda seemed to be built around that one line, and when it got there it just got bland. At least that's what I think.
So... Easter... looks like I'm going to spend another holiday alone. Whatever. Technically I gave up the whole "Catholicism" deal a few years ago anyways. But then again, I didn't ditch Christmas, so why the hell should easter be any different. Anyways, just because I don't believe in any incarnation of God that has thus far been presented doesn't mean that Jesus getting nailed to a tree for saying it would be great if people could not be assholes to one another for a change isn't a signifigant event.
You know what? I'm rationalizing. Who says I need an excuse to cook something nice and eat way too much dark chocolate and Starburst Jelly beans? I don't need to explain myself to all of you! ; )
I might be back later tonight if I've anything else to say.
If not, have a happy Easter or similar springtime holiday
Peace
Yay Starburst Jelly beans!
ReplyDeletedamn she beat me to it! Starburst jellies are the best things ever.
ReplyDeleteIntirely agree with you about the whole Easter thing. I identify, although i'm not catholic...or never was, for that matter
Oh and i was joking about that last post :)
I'm addicted to Starburst Jelly Babies, which I don't think are available in the US. They rock. As Tenacious D might say, they reign supreme.
ReplyDeleteNo, we cant get them here.
ReplyDeleteTenacious D kicks ass.
From the looks of things, there's going to be a Tenacious D movie.
ReplyDelete"We rocked."
"We rocked, so hard."
starburst jelly beans rock my world.. but, i must say dark chocolate rocks my world harder.. i got my fill of hollow dark chocolate bunnies the day AFTER Easter when everything Easter-y was 50% =)
ReplyDeleteTenacious D.. hmmm.. i LOVE jack black, but i'm sorry to say i haven't heard any of his band's music.. except on his MTV Diary. i'll catch up sooner or later.
my "double shifts" are finally DONE! i'm OFF tomorrow.. believe me, i'll be catching up on my fave blogs!
Starburts and Tenacious D...this is the best blog thread ever!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Who woulda thunk there'd be a comment thread about Starbursts and The D? We rock. We rock, so hard.
ReplyDeleteI only wish there was a connection I could draw between the two of them (other than the obvious "they're both awesome" thing) but the truth of the matter is that I've never eaten Starburst Jellybeans while listening to the D. And I'm out of them now, and there's none left at the store...
ReplyDeleteI have, however, read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy while listening to the D. And that's going to be a movie as well come May. So now there are 3 awesome things involved with this blog. Anyone care to add?
ummm.... I have been brainstorming for the past five minutes and the only thing I could come up with was Victoria's Secret and that Jessica Simpson lotion stuff that tastest yummy. But both of those are way to girly for you guys.
ReplyDeleteYou know, there's a joke I could make about the lotion and a Victoria's Secret catalog, but its way too easy and I'm just going to take the high road on that one.
ReplyDeleteTake the high road, hey? There's a first time for everything, I suppose.
ReplyDelete*grin*
hey, there's a subtle difference between an easy joke and fat, hairy Nazis... unless you didn't read that post and were talking about something else...
ReplyDelete*sigh* boys and their... toys.
ReplyDeleteAt least in some way you are admitting that those things are pretty aswesome
You will never hear me scoff at Victoria's Secret. Though while I have neither experience with nor knowledge of any lotion of hers, in regards to Jessica Simpson, there will indeed be scoffing. Starting... now
ReplyDeleteThe lotion is truly wonderful and if you ever get to "test it out" you will agree with me..... and I happen to like Jessica Simpson.
ReplyDelete(Are you bored too E.W?)
Allow me to summarise:
ReplyDelete* Starburst Jelly Beans
* Tenacious D
* Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
* Victoria's Secret
* Jessica Simpson lotion
So we've gone from jelly beans to some not-so-subtext about the various uses of Jessica Simpson's lotion. ;)
Whatever are you talking about, Steve? I was merely referring to letting the lotion sink in to my skin as I relaxed comfortably, perusing the Victoria Secret catologue for a tasteful gift for a friend's birthday
ReplyDeleteGeez, get your mind out of the gutter
(Yeah, kinda bored)
To quote the man who created Leisure Suit Larry, "I was a dirty old man from the age of sixteen."
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I started all this.
ReplyDelete(I am increadibly bored.)
Don't apologize. It would have happened eventually anyways. If you're really bored, shoot me an IM. SN is same as my blogger ID
ReplyDeleteWhAT?! DAmn homework, where the hell was i for all this? Thinking of awsome things....hmmm....um...how 'bout...chiken-pot-pie (sam's idea, and its a solid one). I mean, c'mon...oh OH! I feel a post coming on about chicken pot pie and I'm not gonna waste it here (no offense EW) haha. check me out if a while to see if ive done it yet
ReplyDeleteKnave! Thou wouldst tempt me with mention of chicken pot pie and yet withold? Fie on you!
ReplyDeletethat's right! It's not over yet, for there is more awesome to be added.
ReplyDelete*first produces pistol*
*then produces rapier*
Stand and deliver, or the devil he may take ya!
anyone get it? anyone?
